“The best way to find yourself, is to loose yourself completely in the service of others.” - Unknown

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story can make all the difference.

My other work includes two categories:

1) Other Projects and Work that I have done

This includes the various small projects that I have undertaken up untill now. All of these projects have come with a massive amount of learning and mistakes, and I cannot wait to experience more like these!

2) Social Volunteer Work

I believe that there if one must progress, in any form and way of life, one must always give back. Giving back to society, to Earth and to living is something I always propagate through my thoughts and actions. Through kindness and giving, I’m sure we can change the world, one step at a time.

For the Song Launch of ‘Sau Tarah Ke‘.

It was the summer of 2016 when I officially started taking steps into the media world with an internship at India Today and Aaj Tak in Andheri, Mumbai.
This opened me to the world of TV Broadcasting, something I was really interested in.

My work mainly included more of Entertainment news, as the main wing was in New Delhi. I was put on the project of Aaj Tak’s daily Show Saas Bahu Aur Betiyaan. I had to make run-downs, edit and sort footage, interview celebrities, among other things. I was also involved in the Production and Post Production of the show.

This internship taught me various nuances about interviewing actors in Film City and on sets. Actors I interviewed included Ravi Dubey, Nia Sharma, Nakull Mehta, Meera Deosthale, among many others. I also went for the song launch ‘Sau Tarah Ke’, from the film Dishoom, and interviewed actor Varun Dhawan, producer Sajid Nadiadwala, and composer Pritam.

I was also lucky to anchor the show on Father’s Day in the June of 2016.

SWAYAM: MOOC E-Cell Videos

SWAYAM or Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds is a program of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, that enables professors and faculties of centrally funded institutions like IITs and IIMs, among others, to offer online courses.

Courses delivered through SWAYAM are available free of cost to the learners, however, learners wanting a SWAYAM certificate should register for the final proctored exam that comes at a fee and attend in person.

As part of the same, faculty members from Symbiosis Centre for Media and Communication (SCMC), Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies (SCMS), and Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT) collaborated on a video tutorial on Entrepreneurship, tentatively titles ‘Entrepreneurship Ecosystem for Start-ups’. This project was approved by SIU-MOOC and was mandated by the University Grants Commission (UGC) Guidelines.

I was the Production Manager for the said project and it gave me the knowledge on how to be an efficient Producer on a set. While dealing with schedules, timelines, and budgets, this 4-day shoot was an enriching experience as I got to experience a section of filmmaking I wouldn’t have experienced - Being an actual Producer for a set/film.

Hamara Foundation

Hamara Foundation initially started as "Hamara club" in July 1989 as a field action project of Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) by Prof. Asha Rane in response to the emerging problems of street children in the city of Mumbai.

The primary goal of Hamara Foundation is to empower children on the street so that they have a chance of a better quality of life. Major objectives include reaching out to street children and homeless children, providing them with need-based services for their growth and development, and creating public awareness about issues pertaining to street children and homeless children.

My role with Hamara Foundation has been a really eye-opening one. I was a part of the team conducting various workshops with the children. Workshops on Confidence Building, Dance Movement Therapy, Financial Literacy, and Movies, are just some of the many workshops that I conducted with and for the children. I also helped in surveying their families for the Foundation’s database, which enabled me to talk to so many people from the underprivileged section of society, and made me so grateful about everything I have in life.

Parivartan: HDFC Bank CSR

hdfc.png

Parivartan believe that a nation truly develops when its communities find sustainable means of livelihood. Under HDFC Bank Parivartan, our CSR initiative, we reached out to communities and enabled them to shift from a vicious cycle of poverty to a virtuous cycle of growth. Stemming from our core value of sustainability, this approach empowers millions to be self-reliant and in effect, become partners in the growth of our nation. Taking one step at a time, we aim to pave the way for a brighter future.

My stint with Parivartan exposed me to a corporate setup. Unlike Hamara Foundation, I worked with the Corporate Social Responsibility Team. My work included a wide range of activities. I helped in the making of the Sustainability Project, a project aimed to contribute to a more sustainable lifestyle towards Mother Earth. Along with this, I also worked on documentaries on the CSR initiatives and activities taken in the states of Assam and Punjab. I also helped the team work with rural villages all over the country, and also played a role by making Children’s Day a memorable one for children with a special disability at Save The Children, Bandra Kurla Complex, and the children in various government-run municipal schools.

Bhumi: Creative Eco-Warrior

bhumi.jpg

Bhumi is one of India’s largest independent youth volunteer non-profit organisations. Bhumi as a platform enables over 12,000 volunteers in more than 12 cities across India for causes such as education, environment, animals and community welfare. In 2014, it was the recipient of the ‘Leader in Volunteer Engagement Award’ conferred by iVolunteer.

There is a pressing need today for sustainability and climate action to lead a better tomorrow, and my role as an eco-warrior, was to closely work with the team to help create a more conducive and sustainable future. I used the power of social media to help in spreading the word and making and sharing posters, like the one on the right, to take action for climate change and climate need.

YWater India

YWater is a research-based impact foundation that aims to catalyze young people to take action for sustainable development goals in India. They take a multi-stakeholder approach to build awareness and momentum towards the achievement of SDGs with a focus on supporting and strengthening the participation of local communities.

My time with YWater exposed me to a new world of sustainability. I dealt mainly with sustainable fashion. My work included a wide range of activities. I helped with the social media (Instagram and Twitter) of the organization, constantly making reels and trying to get the point of sustainable fashion out toward the masses. I was also involved in delivering brooches as part of a #YouthVoicesForFashion Campaign and writing their blogs for them.

The organisation helped me learn several new things about the idea of sustainable fashion and the ill-effects of fast fashion, something I later realized, that I was a regular consumer of.
